Kogi Tribunal Update: INEC Fails to Defend, Case Closed
In a surprising turn of events at the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal today, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to present any witnesses as promised. Counsel to the first respondent, Barrister Uchena, only provided BVAS identification lists for specific LGAs, leaving some areas unaddressed. Despite objections from the petitioner's counsel, PA Akubo SAN, the tribunal admitted the BVAS identification lists as evidence. The case has been adjourned to April 17th, 2024, for the second respondent, Alhaji Usman Ododo, to present his defense. With INEC's non-appearance, this marks the end of their defense in the tribunal proceedings. Stay tuned for more updates from the tribunal in Abuja, Nigeria, courtesy of Confluence News."
